Locke’s new band has already released two singles – ‘Float’ and ‘Frogman.’
A new micro-studio dedicated to uncovering, supporting, and promoting the unheard voices of horror has been launched by Zac Locke, former Head of Business Affairs at Blumhouse and partner with Divide/Conquer.
As the new head of the operation, Locke uses his years of experience in both the independent and studio film sectors to help guide the company’s strategy. Silicon Valley funding and specialized marketing and distribution algorithms will also support the new venture.
“Having been on all sides of the filmmaking process myself, I’m excited to be in a position to help empower independent genre filmmakers,” explains Locke. “Rotting Press’ resources, along with our ability to leverage new distribution and marketing platforms, will hopefully result in some fresh new voices and wild original films reaching horror fanatics and general audiences alike.”
He also worked on the popular Insidious, Purge, Sinister, and Ouija franchises while at Blumhouse. His various projects at Divide/Conquer include the upcoming Universal Pictures Black Christmas and Amazon’s The Voyeurs, the IFC Midnight TIFF selection The Wind and the MTV Television Network 2020 Award-winning Pink Skies Ahead.
Scarlett Sperduto and Grant Morningstar star in the film, as do Kaya Coleman, Kate Mayhew, and Miguel Mu*oz. They also appear in Robert Rippberger’s upcoming movie Those Who Walk Away. During a river float with their crew, a vlogger and her crew are in competition with a mysterious local, a sinister paranormal force, and their own fears.
Following more than a decade of directing and shooting highly-regarded and singular genre shorts, Minnesota-based filmmaker Anthony Cousins makes his feature-length debut with Frogman. Producer Peter Kuplowsky has been appointed executive producer for TIFF Midnight Madness.
