Actor Who Played Michael Myers Character, George P. Wilbur, Has Died

The passing of George P. Wilbur, an excellent actor, stuntman, and performer, has been a significant loss for the horror film industry. He will be greatly missed. For a very long time to come, fans and industry professionals alike will remember Wilbur, who passed away at the age of 81 according to Bloody Disgusting.

Wilbur’s career lasted six decades, starting in the 1960s as a stand-in for John Wayne, and resulted in over one hundred credits across television, cinema, and other media. Later in his career, he was inducted into the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame and became famous for his performances as Michael Myers in the films Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers. He was one of only a select few performers who had the opportunity to play the legendary role on many occasions.

Wilbur put his stamp on a number of other notable films in addition to the work he did as the character Michael Myers, including roles as stunt players, stunt doubles, and stunt coordinators.
