Norman Reedus Suffers a concussion While On Set

Norman Reedus, who plays the fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon on AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’, recently suffered a concussion while on set.

It was first apparent that there was something wrong with the ‘Walking Dead’ star after his scheduled appearance at the Fandemic Dead show in Atlanta was “postponed.”

In a “show update” post on their Instagram page, Fandemic announced that “Norman Reedus had to postpone due to an injury.”

Fandemic will be held between March 18-20, with Reedus originally set to appear on Sunday, March 20th.

According to an official statement made to Deadline by the actor’s spokesperson Jeffrey Chassen “Norman suffered a concussion on set” but added that “He is recovering well and will return to work soon.”

The incident is reported to have happened on March 11, 2022. It’s unclear at this time how the injury occurred, but according to Page Six, Reedus ended up having to go to the hospital to treat his injury.

Page Six, also notes that a rep for AMC confirmed the injury will push the series wrap back by a “few days.”

Following this slight delay, the final season is expected to resume production.

Following this final season, Reedus is scheduled to continue the story of Daryl Dixon, along with Melissa McBride’s Carol Peletier character, in a yet-untitled Carol & Darryl Spin-off series.
