Produced by the twisted minds behind last year’s gruesome hit The Mortuary Collection and the upcoming Sundance screamfest Something in the Dirt, New Life boasts an intriguing premise that plays on both supernatural horror and gritty crime thrills. The teaser hints at a terrifying collision between a mysterious woman on the run, played by Hayley Erin (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), and a driven government agent, brought to life by the fantastic Sonya Walger (For All Mankind, Lost).
As the stakes rise and the body count spirals, their two stories become inextricably linked. The stylish teaser shows flashes of creepy settings, jolting jump scares, and an impending apocalypse. Fantasia promises New Life will be “one of the major discoveries” of their 2023 festival, and I’m ready to be the first in line.
Rosman’s background as an award-winning journalist adds an extra air of grounded realism, while production company SpectreVision – the warped minds behind Mandy and the trippy Color Out of Space – brings the sinister atmosphere.
