Shudder, the premium streaming service for horror, thrillers, and the supernatural that is owned and operated by AMC Networks, is ecstatic to make the announcement of the first teaser for the Shudder Original film Good Madam prior to the film’s premiere on the VOD service on Thursday, July 14.

The picture is the fourth movie from the renowned South African writer and filmmaker Jenna Cato Bass (High Fantasy, Flatland), and it had its international debut at the 2021 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, where it received a lot of positive feedback. As per the plot summary, the story of Good Madam focuses on Tsidi, a single mother who is “forced to move in with her estranged mother Mavis,” who is a live-in domestic worker caring obsessively for her catatonic white “Madam” in the affluent suburbs of Cape Town. The film follows Tsidi’s journey as she adjusts to her new living situation with Mavis. However, while Tsidi works to bring her family back to health, “a dreadful spectre starts to rise.”
