Hey there Horror Facts fiends! Just wanted to drop in with a quick hello to introduce myself to you. My name’s Ralph Mandarino, a horror writer and enthusiast. At the time this is being written, the newest member of the NYC’s chapter of the Horror Writers Association.
When I’m not creating nightmares with my short stories and murdering the blank page trying to churn out my novel, my time is filled with my biggest project to date – creating New York’s first dedicated Gluten Free brewery with taproom. The entire brewery is filled with the inspiration of horror greatness. Posters, memorabilia, movie room playing horror favorites in addition the names of our beers also pay homage to our favorite genre. With any luck we will open later this year!

What’s better than a good horror movie and some beer? Good being subjective. I love me some B… even C movies every now and again.
My wife and son are definitely take it or leave it when it comes to the macabre. Though they enjoy Zombieland’s. My daughter is my couch companion when it comes to the truly terrifying. We both enjoy The Conjuring universe and the Friday the 13th franchise. Then our taste split a bit. She’s more of a modern Happy Death Day/ Truth or Dare kind of girl. In contrast, my tastes gravitate more towards classics like Phantasm ‘79, Evil Dead ’81 and The Shining ’80.
Is everyone familiar with Slasher? Undoubtedly the best social media app for us horror enthusiasts. An incredible community of people are on there. If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and check it out. That’s where I first learned of an opportunity to be a contributor on Horror Facts. Some good conversation with our admin and founder Justin… boom here I am!
First and foremost my goal is to be informative as well as entertaining. Movie/Event reviews mixed with some original stories and poems. Tell me what you like, tell me what you hate, just tell me something!!
Norman Bates said: “We all go a little mad sometimes.”
Lets explore some of the madness together. Be afraid, be very afraid…
Cheers!
