WWE Legend Sid Eudy, Known as Sid Vicious, Passes Away at 63

Sid Eudy, a wrestling icon better known to WWE fans as Sycho Sid, has died at the age of 63. The six-time world champion passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, following a prolonged battle with cancer.

Eudy’s son, Gunner, confirmed the news to TMZ, stating, “He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss.”

Eudy, who also performed under the monikers Sid Vicious and Sid Justice, leaves behind his wife Sabrina Paige and their children Frank and Gunner. Throughout his illustrious career, he faced off against fellow legends such as Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, the Undertaker, and Sting. His performances headlined multiple pay-per-view events during the late 1990s, the peak of his wrestling career.

A severe injury in 2001 forced Eudy to largely retire from the ring. However, he managed to make sporadic appearances over the years. His final match took place in 2017, where he emerged victorious against Paul Rosenburg.

In one of his last interviews on the ‘Prime Time With Sean Mooney’ podcast, Eudy reflected on his life and career, describing himself as the hardest worker he had ever encountered:

“This is the deal. I don’t have to pat myself on the back to you or anybody. I’m the hardest worker that I’ve ever met in my life, and anybody that’s ever traveled with me like Bob Holly, Billy Gunn, or any of these guys that worked out with me or traveled the road, no one ever worked harder than me.”

He continued, “I was through with my first workout and back to my second breakfast when everybody else was just getting up, and I was going to my second workout, and that’s how I was as a kid too. I thrived to be the best, and I did everything it took to do that.”

Eudy attributed his work ethic to his family background, stating, “It’s in my genes. My father was an overachiever. He was a pilot; he’s the one who taught me to fly. I think everyone in my family was overachievers. That just runs in my family.”

The wrestling community and fans worldwide mourn the loss of this legendary figure who left an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling.
