Vampire Zombies… from Space!

The horror and sci-fi satire “Vampire Zombies…From Space!” is making waves with its star-studded cast. The filmmaking team has launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund the project and continue adding to their talent roster.

If you’re a fan of Mel Brooks, Ed Wood, and South Park, this movie is right up your alley. “Vampire Zombies…From Space!” is a raunchy comedy feature that pays homage to and satirizes science fiction and horror films from the past. The plot follows Dracula as he turns the residents of a small American town into his personal army of vampire zombies. A group of unlikely heroes, including a grizzled detective, a hot-shot rookie cop, a chain-smoking greaser, and a determined young woman, band together to save the world from the undead horde.

The film continues to add iconic cult talent to its already impressive roster. Most recently, they announced that Judith O’Dea, star of the quintessential “Night of the Living Dead,” will play Elvira, one of three Vampire High Council members who offer guidance and impose their will upon Dracula. O’Dea led the charge against an undead horde alongside Duane Jones in the George A. Romero classic.

Another iconic vampire who will make an appearance is Nosferatu, portrayed by the eccentric and bizarre David Liebe Hart, best known for his appearances in projects by alt-comedy greats Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. Simon Reynolds, best known for “The Gate II” and “Saw VI,” will portray a rambling war-hungry Colonel leading the offensive attack on the space vampires. Legendary B-movie director and president of TROMA Entertainment, Lloyd Kaufman, will also make an appearance in the film. Other notable cast members include Gavin Michael Booth, writer-director of “The Scarehouse,” and Andrew Bee, known for his role in “The Suicide Squad.”

The film is directed and produced by veteran filmmaker Mike Stasko, whose past films have played in festivals around the world and have featured the likes of Fred Willard, Ray Wise, Colin Mochrie, Tom Cavanaugh, Graham Greene, and Kevin McDonald. The film is written and co-produced by Jakob Skrzypa, producer on the MTV and Paramount staple series “The Challenge,” and Alex Forman.

“The film is a great mix of modern raunchy comedy and classic old school cinema,” adds writer Skrzypa. The filmmakers hope to release the movie in late 2023 or early 2024 and are relying on their Indiegogo campaign to continue adding cult icons to the project.

In a world where horror and sci-fi films are a dime a dozen, “Vampire Zombies…From Space!” is shaping up to be a breath of fresh air. With its star-studded cast and blend of modern and classic cinema, it’s sure to be a hit with fans of the genre. Keep an eye out for updates on its release and be sure to support the Indiegogo campaign if you want to see even more cult icons added to the project.
