The new trailer gives us our first look into the long-awaited arrival of ‘Child’s Play’ series regulars Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Tiffany Valentine (Jennifer Tilly), Kyle (Christine Elise), and Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) who have been absent from all previous trailers up to this point.

Barclay makes his first appearance in the trailer by relaying an ominous message to Jake Webber (Zackary Arthur) to be “very careful with that doll.” When he finally makes his onscreen debut, he reveals to Alex that “Chucky broke his soul into pieces, but the last piece didn’t go into a doll.”

This segues into our first official glimpse of the return of Pierce and Valentine.  It also serves to finally answer the question as to the role Pierce will be playing in the ‘Chucky’ series. In 2017’s ‘Cult of Chucky’, we saw Charles Lee Ray transfer a piece of his soul into Pierce’s body. Now it’s confirmed that a piece is still inside her, and along with Valentine has plans for the killer’s hometown.

The series, which had been previously described as taking place in an “idyllic American town”, has now been revealed to be taking place in Hackensack, New Jersey (the birthplace of Charles Lee Ray).

The trailer also serves to reveal that Webber has learned of the sinister history behind the “Good Guy” doll he has now found himself in possession of.

Along with Zackary Arthur, Alex Vincent, Jennifer Tilly, Nica Dourif, Christine Elise, and of course Brad Dourif who reprises his role as the iconic voice of Chucky. The series also stars Bjorgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross, Teo Briones as Junior Wheeler, Lexa Doig as Bree Wheeler, and Devon Sawa as Lucas Wheeler.

The premiere episode titled ‘Death By Misadventure’ is set to premiere on SyFy and the USA Network on October 12, 2021. The first episode is directed by ‘Child’s Play’ series creator Don Mancini.
