Word on the street is that Kevin Bacon, Helena Bonham Carter, and Halsey might be joining Mia Goth in the upcoming sequel. I gotta say, if these rumors are true, it’s gonna be one wild ride!
If you’re not in the loop, let me catch you up. A few months back, A24 gave the green light for the X sequel, MaXXXine, and franchise star Mia Goth is set to reprise her role as Maxine Minx. Goth has been raving about the script, saying it’s the best one yet, and I gotta say, I’m pretty excited about it too.
But now, with these casting rumors, my excitement level has reached new heights. Just imagine Kevin Bacon, the legend from Tremors, joining the cast. Or Helena Bonham Carter, who killed it in Fight Club, bringing her A-game to the table. And let’s not forget about Halsey, who has proven time and time again that she’s a talented actress.
Of course, we gotta keep in mind that these are just rumors at the moment. Film journalist Jeff Sneider has heard Bacon’s name come up in connection with MaXXXine, and he’s also heard that Halsey might have a role in the film, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
One thing that is confirmed is that Ti West is writing and directing MaXXXine, and A24 is producing it. Goth is serving as executive producer as well, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. And from what West has said, it sounds like MaXXXine is going to be a wild ride, delving into the industry itself and the boom of VHS.
Personally, I loved both X and Pearl, so I can’t wait to see what West has in store for us with MaXXXine. Whether or not Bacon, Carter, and Halsey end up joining the cast, I’m just excited to see this franchise continue with Goth in the lead. And who knows, maybe we’ll even get the chance to be extras in the film!
