Today A24 has revealed the official trailer for it’s new slasher film Bodies Bodies Bodies which you can view directly on Horror Facts in the space below.
This fresh and amusing look at backstabbing, phoney pals, and one party gone horribly wrong follows a group of wealthy twenty-somethings as they prepare a hurricane party at their family’s secluded country house in the midst of the Great Depression.
As a result of the trailer, we have a better understanding of what the in-universe Bodies Bodies Bodies is like. To play this murder mystery, the group of friends must all halt their partying, which includes champagne popped with a sword, dancing on tables, and generally getting wild n’ out. To solve the case, everyone must select a slip of paper from a hat to identify who is the perpetrator. The one who draws the X is responsible for tracking down and “murdering” the others who are just trying to survive the night. It’s reportedly very emotional, so much so that some players have broken down in tears when they’ve taken part in previous rounds, but nothing will be as intense as this round. Someone takes the concept much too literally and begins murdering people, transforming the fictitious murder mystery into a genuine murder mystery.
Its cast includes Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), Pete Davidson (The Suicide Squad) Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby) Myha’la Herrold (Generation), Chase Sui Wonders (Palm Springs) and Lee Pace (Borat) (Guardians of the Galaxy).
The release date for Bodies Bodies Bodies is set for Friday, August 5th.
