This time around, Ghostface is completely different.
It was announced on Thursday that the first full trailer for Scream VI would be released by Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group. The film will feature the return of Kirby from Scream 4, who will be portrayed once again by Hayden Panettiere, as well as Courteney Cox, who will reprise her role of Gale Weathers.
It is hinted in the teaser that Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) will have a dangerous confrontation with Ghostface in New York City while they are in a convenience store pleading for aid from passersby. Sam is then shown noting her own connection to Scream’s past. She is the daughter of the original 1996 movie’s villain Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich), and as new characters meet with Kirby and Gale and discover something of a “shrine” to Ghostface, Sam is shown making reference to this fact.
In the new trailer, the serial killer appears to be targeting Gale in particular. This leads to a tense confrontation between Sam, Tara, and the character played by newcomer Josh Segarra, as well as their friends Chad (Mason Gooding) and Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) on the subway on Halloween, which is filled with people dressed up in costumes.
