October is set to deliver a chilling treat for horror enthusiasts as SCREAMBOX unveils its latest original series, Tales From the Void. This anthology series draws inspiration from the most haunting viral stories found in Reddit’s popular NoSleep community, promising to crawl under viewers’ skin and nest in their nightmares.
The series is poised to showcase a diverse spectrum of horror, from eerie dolls and unborn children to unsolved mysteries and nocturnal stalkers. Each episode blends classic genre thrills with poignant social commentary, delving into the murky depths of the human psyche.
Tales From the Void boasts an impressive roster of directors, including Joe Lynch (known for Mayhem), the duo John Adams & Toby Poser (creators of Hellbender), Maritte Lee Go (director of Black as Night), and the series’ mastermind, Francesco Loschiavo.
Loschiavo, the creative force behind the series, shared his vision: “For Tales from the Void, we curated a really special selection of No Sleep stories. Great horror stories can come from anywhere on No Sleep, whether from an established writer or even a first-time author, and we really wanted to have that ethos make it to the screen. Each week showcasing a new subgenre of horror celebrating the breadth and depth of the genre.”
Tales From the Void will premiere exclusively on SCREAMBOX, with two episodes dropping every Sunday from October 13 to October 27. For those who prefer to savor their scares at their own pace, episodes will be available for purchase or rental on various digital platforms the following Tuesday.
Adding an extra layer of intrigue, each episode will be accompanied by a post-show interview featuring the original story’s author, hosted by David Cummings, the creator of the No Sleep Podcast.
The series kicks off on Sunday, October 13th with two episodes. First up is “Into the Unknown” (directed by Joe Lynch, based on the NoSleep story “The Black Square” by Matt Dymerski). This will be followed by “Fixed Frequency” (directed by Loschiavo himself, adapted from the story “I used to hack baby monitors. One night, I learned my lesson” by Manen Lyset).
The terror continues on October 20th with “Starlight” (directed by Loschiavo and based on “The Million Dollar Question” by Joao Andre Narigueta Ribeiro) and “Carry” (directed by Maritte Lee Go and based on “Pro-Life” by Grayson Grume).
The anthology wraps up on October 27th with “Plastic Smile” (directed by John Adams & Toby Poser, based on “Betsy the Doll” by Rebecca Klingel) and “Whistle in the Woods” (directed by Maritte Lee Go, based on “Something walks whistling past my house every night at 3:03” by Travis Brown).
Tales From the Void is set to be a must-watch for those who revel in the art of the scare. The series promises to bring the visceral terror of Reddit’s NoSleep to life, offering a fresh and unsettling take on the horror anthology format.
