“Prey for the Devil,” will be released in theatres on Halloween this year.

We’ve been keeping an eye on an exorcism horror picture from Lionsgate, Gold Circle Entertainment, and Confluence for some time now. Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism) and Robert Zappia (Halloween H20) collaborated on this film, which was once titled The Devil’s Light and was scheduled for release in February.

Lionsgate has now revealed that the film, which has been renamed Prey for the Devil, will be released in theatres on October 31st this year. It is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on October 28th. The film’s trailer and posters have already gone on display in an effort to generate interest.

In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church reopens exorcism schools to train priests in the Rite of Exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield, an unlikely warrior rises: a young nun, Sister Ann. Although nuns are forbidden to perform exorcisms, a professor recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Thrust onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante, Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl (who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago), and soon realizes the Devil has her right where he wants her….and it wants in.
