A revival of “Dexter” starring Michael C. Hall is coming back to Showtime very soon, continuing the original storyline. It will allow Showtime to make up for the original show’s finale. According to Deadline, Jennifer Carpenter, who portrayed Dexter’s sister Debra Morgan in the original series will also be returning.
As Deadline points out, “Carpenter played Dexter’s foster sister Debra, a homicide detective who used her brother’s skills to solve murders. She was killed in the series finale.”
Also playing Arthur Mitchell will be John Lithgow, the “Trinity Killer.” What will happen to the dead characters? Perhaps the trademarked voices in Dexter’s mind.
“As all Dexter fans know, we saw the end of the Trinity Killer, so that by definition means it’s a flashback,” wrote Lithgow in an interview. “It was just wonderful to rejoin that gang—including Michael and Jennifer Carpenter and Clyde Phillips.”
Jamie Chung joins the revival, which also stars Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Jack Alcott.
Among the showrunners for the new ten-episode revival, Clyde Phillips returns.
The series ran between 2006 and 2013.
