Grindhouse Releasing Has News from Eli Roth

Grindhouse Releasing is pleased to host an all new double-feature showing of Peter S. Traynor’s classic 1970s psycho-thriller DEATH GAME and Eli Roth’s KNOCK KNOCK, the modern adaptation it inspired (2015).

This special event is taking place at the Esquire Theatre on Saturday, March 26. (320 Ludlow Ave., Cincinnati, OH). In promotion of its impending Blu-ray release of DEATH GAME, Grindhouse hopes to bring this scary double-feature to more cinemas throughout America.

Seymour Cassel plays George Manning, a respectable father whose idyllic existence is turned into a nightmare of sex and torment when he lets himself to be persuaded by two young strangers (Sondra Locke and Colleen Camp) who come up at his door on a stormy night.

“I found an old copy of Death Game starring my friend Colleen Camp, and was completely blown away by what an incredible film it was.  I made Knock Knock (produced with Colleen Camp and Sondra Locke) in the hopes people would rediscover what I believe is a lost gem of completely insane and masterful 70s cinema.  The level of talent in front of and behind the camera is staggering, and the film really holds up on every level, especially for the low budget they made the film on.  Death Game is truly one of those movies you have to see to believe – it’s that wild.   Both Knock Knock and Death Game never got decent theatrical releases, so I’m thrilled fans can enjoy both on the big screen the way they were meant to be seen.”

Keanu Reeves stars as a married man who succumbs to temptation, opposite Lorenza Izzo (ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD) and Ana de Armas (NO TIME TO DIE) as the crazed duo that appear on his doorstep with a special delivery of seduction and disaster in KNOCK KNOCK.

Customers who buy directly through Grindhouse Releasing dot com will receive the exclusive collector’s edition 2-disc Blu-ray of DEATH GAME, which is limited to 2000 copies. Later this year, a mass-market edition will be released. The release date has yet to be determined.

An update was posted on Grindhouse Releasing which states the following.

Due to a manufacturing issue, there will be a slight delay in the release of the DEATH GAME Blu-ray. We expect to ship the limited edition Blu-ray to our customers in March.

While this is extremely frustrating for all of us, we made the decision to reprint the slipcovers, outer wrap and booklet rather than compromise the presentation of this long-awaited release.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We are offering a 25 percent discount on back catalog Blu-ray titles to all customers pre-ordering DEATH GAME from our website. Sign up for our newsletter at GrindhouseReleasing.com to receive your discount code.

Thank you for your patience.
