About Deadwatch: Demon Squad 2
Deadwatch: Demon Squad 2 is a sequel to the 2019 film Demon Squad, which was a well-received no-budget indie film. The original film followed Nick Moon, P.I. (Paranormal Investigator) as he delved into a hidden world of monsters and creatures of the night to retrieve an ancient artifact with astonishing power. Audiences and critics alike embraced the no-budget independent film, praising it for its ambition, writing, and characters, while posing a similar question: “When’s the sequel?”
Enter Deadwatch: Demon Squad 2…
Paranormal investigators Nick Moon and Daisy O’Reilly return for a haunted house mystery filled with monsters and magic. But things don’t go quite as you might expect. To divulge much more would be…spoilers. While Demon Squad leaned into the tropes of traditional film noir, Deadwatch 2 will lean more into adventure, science fiction, and fantasy, providing an exciting new backdrop for our characters to explore.
“With Deadwatch 2 we want to make the best possible movie we can,” Smith explains. “We’re looking at this as our opportunity to produce the movie we want to make, and make it right.”
Mystery Science Theater 3000
In the summer of 2022, Demon Squad premiered as an experiment in the thirteenth season of the revived cult-classic TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). Returning to roast the film was the show’s creator and original host, Joel Hodgson.
“As lifelong fans of MST3K, we were honored (and anxious) to have our no-budget passion project featured,” says Erin Lilley, co-writer and co-star. “MST3K was an exciting and fun experience, and the show helped Demon Squad reach a wider audience.”
