Monstrous has a lighthearted tone and returns to the brilliant pastel hues of the 1950s to resurrect the monster movie era. Christina Ricci stars as a kind mother who lives near a lake that may or may not be home to monsters.
Laura, scarred by a violent relationship, ultimately flees with her seven-year-old son Cody from her previous husband.
