This Friday, October 21, tune in to Shudder for the live broadcast of Joe Bob Briggs’ The Last Drive-In: Joe Bob’s Haunted Halloween Hangout, featuring the famed Mistress of the Dark Elvira (Cassandra Peterson).
Given that Shudder played home to Briggs’s 24-hour The Last Drive-In marathon in 2018 and Elvira’s four-film 40th anniversary celebration marathon in 2017, the streaming service seems like a natural fit for this pairing. Mistress of the Dark Elvira is a welcome addition to Joe Bob’s Haunted Halloween Hangout. During her heyday, her name was synonymous with all things spooky: from costumes to comics to board games. Her fame has spread beyond the horror genre, into other genres such as television, film, and even pro wrestling. Her unique style and cheesy sense of humor have made her a global phenomenon.
Briggs will, as usual, show a scary movie or two during the evening, but he and Peterson haven’t given away any hints about what they have planned. Check out the clip below to get you hyped for this Friday’s show.
