‘The Others’ is Getting a Remake

In a world where it seems its just easier to remake a movie than come up with an original idea, Universal Pictures along with Sentient Entertainment have announced that they will be remaking the 2001 film, The Others.

The Others starred Nichole Kidman as Grace Stewart, a widow living in a mansion with her two children, Anne (Alakina Mann) and Nicholas (James Bentley). Both children are photosensitive and can’t be touched by direct sunlight. After hiring three new servants, strange occurrences start to occur in the home. Grace soon fears that her house may be haunted and begins to investigate into the possibility of ‘others’ being present in her home.

The original film was reportedly made on a budget of $17,000,000 and saw a worldwide gross of $209,947,037, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. One has to wonder if Universal Pictures and Sentient Entertainment are hoping that lightening will strike twice.

The Others currently holds a score of 83% on RottenTomatoes.com and has been certified fresh. With this knowledge one has to wonder if it’s wise to try and tackle such a film, or if its best to leave well enough alone.

The project is still in early development, and no one has yet to be attached to write or direct the film. Horror Facts will be sure to keep you informed as new information becomes available.
