The Premise
What begins as a celebratory 21st birthday camping trip quickly descends into a nightmare when Kate and her friends cross paths with Piglet—a hulking, boar-masked killer with a meat hook and a penchant for brutality. Stranded in the woods with no cell service, a sabotaged generator, and a mysteriously drained gas tank, the group must unravel Piglet’s disturbing origins while confronting Kate’s own traumatic past.
What We Know
- The Monster: Forget Winnie-the-Pooh’s timid friend—this Piglet is a grotesque human-pig hybrid, clad in a boar mask eerily reminiscent of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey. Armed with a meat hook, he channels Texas Chain Saw Massacre levels of terror.
- No Pooh Connection: Despite initial assumptions, this film has zero ties to A.A. Milne’s Piglet or the Poohniverse franchise. The mask was reportedly purchased online, making this a standalone slasher with its own twisted lore.
- Gory, Flawed, Fun: Early buzz praises the film’s practical effects but critiques its overuse of digital blood, uneven sound mixing, and reliance on horror tropes (yes, the “no service” cliché strikes again).
Where to Watch
Arriving June 2, 2025, on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Sky Store, Google Play, and YouTube.
Who’s It For?
Fans of:
- Backwoods slashers (Wrong Turn meets Piggy)
- So-bad-it’s-good horror (à la Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey)
- Creature features with a side of psychological dread
Final Thoughts: Piglet won’t be winning any Oscars, but its unhinged brutality and meme-worthy premise could cement its status as a future cult oddity. Just don’t go in expecting Babe: Pig in the City—this is Porky’s meets The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
