Look out Jack…Chucky’s back, and it looks like he’s bringing some friends with him.
Back in July, it was announced that Brad Dourif, would be returning as the voice of Charles Lee Ray on the SyFy series ‘Chucky’.
Now it appears Jennifer Tilly will also be joining the series, as she is set to reprise her role of Tiffany Valentine.
Tilly first debuted as the murderous Tiffany in 1998’s ‘Bride of Chucky’.
Tilly would later go on to appear as herself in 2004’s, ‘Seed of Chucky.’ In the film, Tiffany is able to transfer her soul into Tilly’s body, and in every film that has followed Tilly has played a possessed version of herself.
In 2017’s, ‘Cult of Chucky’ (the last film in the franchise) we see that the Tiffany doll is alive. Revealing that she learned the same voodoo spell as Chucky, and is now able to separate her soul into multiple vessels.
As this series is reported to be a continuation of the films and not a reboot, it’s unknown if she will appear as a possessed version of herself, or if she will be returning as the killer doll.
The series is said to revolve around a vintage Chucky doll that mysteriously turns up at a suburban yard sale. Not long after its arrival, folks of the idyllic American town start getting murdered, exposing the town’s secrets.
Along with Tilly, Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Teo Briones (Ratched), Alyvia Alyn Lind (The Young and the Restless), Bjorgvin Arnarson (The Seventh Day), and Devin Sawa (Final Destination) are also set to appear in the series.
Arthur will play Jake Webber, who is said to be a loner, making him easy prey for Chucky; Briones will appear as Junior Webber, the jock cousin of Jake; Lind will be playing Lexy Taylor, Jake’s bully and also the girlfriend of Junior; Arnarson will play Devon Lopez, a true-crime junkie who inserts himself into the mysterious killings; details about Sawa’s character are being kept a secret at this time.
The series will be written by Don Mancini, the original creator, and writer of all seven installments of the ‘Childs Play’ franchise.
Mancini is also set to executive producer the series, along with David Kirschner, Nick Antosca, and Harley Peyton.
Filming on the series is set to begin next month in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
