You remember M3GAN, right? The AI doll who turned “friendship” into a series of perfectly timed slaughters? Well, she’s making her return! And this time, there’s a fierce opponent who might just challenge her. (and she’s got a little surprise with her… sort of)!
The creative minds behind the original, including James Wan, Jason Blum, and Gerard Johnstone, are bringing us M3GAN 2.0. Forget about therapy; this is the real kind of release we’ve been missing.
So, what’s the story this time? It’s two years after M3GAN caused her mayhem (and met her digital end), and Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a safety expert for AI (funny, right?). Cady (Violet McGraw) is just your average rebellious teenager, who probably thinks M3GAN was pretty cool.
But hang on! A shady defense contractor has nabbed M3GAN’s tech and created Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a military AI assassin. Imagine M3GAN, only this one comes with even deadlier features and a desire to take down her human creators. Naturally.
In a moment of total desperation (or maybe she just misses the wild times), Gemma decides the only way to stop Amelia is to bring M3GAN back. Time for some upgrades! Faster, stronger, and sassier than ever, M3GAN is set for a showdown.
The scene is all set: our original AI diva versus the high-tech military model. Who will come out on top? Honestly, we’re just here for the mayhem and those killer dance moves.
Directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 also brings back Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps, with new faces like Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and the hilarious Jemaine Clement joining the fun.
