“Candy” The new Hulu Original Series

A teaser for Hulu’s forthcoming series Candy has been published to keep true-crime fans on the edge of their seats. The Jessica Biel-led series has given us a few hints so far, but this new teaser gives us more insight into the character of the supposedly kind southern lady.

In addition to Melanie Lynskey, Timothy Simons, Pablo Schreiber, and Raul Esparza, the drama marks Biel’s return to television.

As the actual Candy Montgomery was accused of killing Betty Gore, a middle school teacher she had made acquainted with after meeting at church, her little Texas community was rocked. Allan Gore, Betty’s husband, was also having an affair with Candy at the time of the murder, which some believe was the cause. Despite her insistence that she acted in self-defense, the mother of two eventually admitted to slicing Betty 41 times with an axe and was shunned by her community as a result.

Synopsis:
“Candy Montgomery is a housewife and mother from the 1980s who did everything right—good husband, two kids, great home, even precise planning and execution of transgressions—but as the burden of conformity grows inside her, her actions cry for just a little bit of freedom. With fatal consequences.”

If the clip is any sign, those that have been anticipating the release of this series will not be disappointed. And if you think the preview is insane, wait till you see the complete story.
