Netflix’s vampire slayer flick Day Shift, which stars Jamie Foxx, has received a R classification for its gruesome violence and gore.

Vampire action flick Day Shift is coming to Netflix streaming service on August 12th, and this week the Motion Picture Association ratings board announced that Day Shift has been given a R rating for “strong violence and gore, and language,” making it one of the first films to receive this classification for a Netflix film.

Stunt coordinator and second unit director J.J. Perry makes his feature film directorial debut with Day Shift. Tyler Tice’s debut screenplay was polished by Shay Hatten before being produced (John Wick: Chapter 3, Army of the Dead). Foxx’s character is at the core of the plot.
