There will be a new season of Black Mirror coming to Netflix, according to Variety.
Since Black Mirror’s last season premiered in June of 2019, there has been a significant three-year break. The upcoming season’s cast is reportedly already being assembled, so fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer. For the time being, specifics of the anthology’s plots are being kept under wraps. Season 6 of Black Mirror will contain more episodes than season 5, which is confirmed. The more Black Mirror we get, the better.
Season five had a stellar ensemble that included Miley Cyrus from Wrecking Ball, Anthony Mackie from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Topher Grace from That 70s Show, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II from Candyman.
Since Charlie Brooker and his creative collaborator Annabel Jones parted ways with Endemol Shine Group-backed production firm House of Tomorrow in January 2020, the new season of “Black Mirror” is the first to air. Once Broke and Bones was established, Netflix made a huge investment in it by signing a five-year agreement that could net the firm up to $100 million, a figure Netflix is expected to surpass.
Pre-production has begun on Season 6, according to Variety, and casting has begun. Obviously, there are no information available about the mysterious series, but it is supposed to be “more cinematic in scope, with each instalment being treated as an individual film.”
The debut episode of Black Mirror aired on Channel 4 in 2011. After the third season, which aired in 2016, it was transferred to Netflix.
Eight Primetime Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award have been bestowed to the program.
