‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Gets Official Release Date

The sequel to Hocus Pocus may arrive on Disney+ sooner than expected. Adam Shankman, the producer of the sequel to the Disney classic, has announced that the sequel will arrive on Halloween October 31.

Having been introduced to The Sanderson Sisters by Kenny Ortega in 1993, the world has been clamoring for a sequel that will bring them back. There appears to be no stopping this year’s Halloween, it’s going to be even more magical than usual. Filming on the movie began in November, with the three stars reprising their roles as Winnifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson, three witches who hunt children in order to remain young.

After its premiere at the box office and with critics in 1993, Hocus Pocus went on to gain a cult following via home video sales and annual airings on cable television. The demand for a sequel gradually increased as fans re-watched Disney’s Halloween classic every spooky season.

The sequel revolves around three sisters who accidentally release the Sanderson sisters once again. Their task is to prevent the witches’ insatiable child-hungry appetites from taking over. As they awaken in present-day Salem, Winifred, Sarah and Mary seek revenge, according to Entertainment Weekly. Three teenage girls – Becca, Cassie, and Izzy – must discover how to prevent the witches from gaining retribution.

The cast of Hocus Pocus 2 includes Midler, Parker, Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Doug Jones, Juju Brenner, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen.
