When is ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Set to Air?

The wait is nearly over, as the long-anticipated ‘Stranger Things 4’ is set to premiere on May 27th.

In an official statement released by series creators Matt and Ross Duffer, we have learned that this season will be released in two volumes. with volume one releasing May 27th, and the second on July 1st.

The decision to split the season into two volumes rather than release the entire season at once was revealed in the same announcement.

“It’s been a little while,” they wrote. “With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes.”

The news of the upcoming season’s release date, also revealed that ‘Strangers Things 4’ will be “the beginning of the end.”

The Duffer brothers would go on to state: “Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but –as you’ll soon see for yourselves – we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last”.

With the sad news that the series now has an official end date, also came the prospect of potential spin-offs.
“There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes”.

But before we look to the future possibilities that could spawn out of the 80’s inspired series, we should remain focused on the upcoming fourth season, which is set to pick up six months after the events of ‘Stranger Things 3’.

The season’s official synopsis is as follows: It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

‘Stranger Things 4’ will star David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.
