Edge Lit 10: A Feast of Frights Returns to QUAD

Prepare yourselves, horror aficionados! The veil between our world and the realms of darkness is about to grow thin once more. Edge Lit, the premier celebration of all things horrific, thrilling, fantastical, and science fictional, is set to descend upon QUAD in Derby this September.

Now in its tenth blood-curdling iteration, Edge Lit promises to be a day of delicious dread, featuring some of the most twisted minds in genre fiction. On Saturday, September 7th, from 10 am to 5 pm, twenty-four authors will gather to share their nightmarish visions and discuss the craft of terror.

Among the guests of horror are:

  • Charlie Higson: The comedic mastermind behind “The Fast Show” who turned his talents to young adult horror with “The Enemy” series.
  • Robin Ince: A comedian who dares to venture into the terrifying realm of scientific ideas on BBC Radio 4’s “The Infinite Monkey Cage.”
  • Sarah Pinborough: The international bestselling author whose novels “Insomnia” and “Behind Her Eyes” have been adapted to haunt your screens.
  • Stephen Volk: The BAFTA-winning creator of the infamous “Ghostwatch,” which convinced viewers they were witnessing a real haunting on live TV.
  • Robert Shearman: The twisted genius who brought the Daleks back to “Doctor Who” and has won numerous awards for his chilling short story collections.

The day will be filled with panel discussions that probe the darkest corners of the human psyche, interviews that reveal the inner workings of these masters of the macabre, and readings that will chill you to the bone. Workshops will be available for those brave souls who wish to hone their own skills in crafting terror.

For those who dare to bring a piece of the darkness home with them, independent presses and authors will be offering their most spine-tingling tomes for sale.

Tickets for this carnival of creepiness are £35, granting access to all events. But beware – each ticket is subject to a £1 transaction fee, a small price to pay for the nightmares that await.

Do you have the courage to attend? Or will you cower in the safety of your home, knowing that the gathered authors are weaving new horrors just a short distance away? The choice is yours, but remember: in the world of Edge Lit, even your darkest fears are just the beginning.
