Can we expect Spawn to make a triumphant comeback to the big screen?

MCFARLANE: “NOW OR NEVER” TIME FOR THE ‘SPAWN’ REBOOT.

In 1997, Michael Jai White portrayed the supernatural anti-hero on film, and the film’s box office success was so strong that it “spawned” an HBO animated series and sparked talk of a live-action remake as far back as 2015. However, in the ensuing seven years, no progress has been made.

To date, the much-discussed cinematic relaunch of Todd McFarlane’s renowned comic book character has been in development for almost as long as the character himself. A recent interview, though, suggests that perhaps–just perhaps–the lengthy wait is finally coming to an end.

As part of a recent interview, Bleeding Cool sat down with Todd MacFarlane to talk about his comic book empire and Spawn. He argues that discussions are still taking place despite the fact that there have been no recent public updates on the status of the picture, however he has stated. “It’s now or never” and “in the next few months, right?”

So, what’s next? Is it possible that we’ll never see another Spawn film again. Todd McFarlane invented the horror superhero Spawn, who made his debut in May 1992’s Spawn #1. His 30th anniversary is next month, which makes it the ideal time to make such an announcement.

What do you think? Will there be a new spawn film in near future or is this the end for the anti hero.
