Soon after the film The Strangers was released in 2008, director Bryan Bertino made an announcement regarding a sequel… It wasn’t until 2018 that the sequel, titled The Strangers: Prey at Night, was finally made available to the public due to a number of factors.
Our good friends over at Bloody Disgusting have been kept in the loop regarding the development of a new instalment in the series thanks to Roy Lee, the producer of The Strangers. In point of fact, the manner in which Lee announced the news makes it appear as though a trilogy of Strangers sequels are currently in development and will be shot simultaneously.
When asked if there is a possibility that we will watch another instalment of Strangers, Lee responded,
I think the next three are in production next month with another filmmaker that people will know
If filming on The Strangers 3 begins the next month (and possibly also on The Strangers 4 and 5), we should have more information fairly shortly after that point in time. My curiosity has been sparked, and I would like to find out who the director is and what kind of plans they have in store for us in the future.
