Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are currently hard at work on the production of M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to their latest suspense film. Universal has announced that the film will debut in theaters on January 17, 2025, marking the release date that has been set in stone. Indie Wire reports that Atomic Monster and Blumhouse will be the production companies behind the upcoming sequel, and that James Wan, Jason Blum, and Allison Williams will serve as producers on the movie.
Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Judson Scott will serve in an executive producing capacity for the film. Ryan Turek, who works for Blumhouse, will serve as an executive producer alongside Mark Katchur. In addition, executive producing duties will be taken on by Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath of the Divide/Conquer team. E
ven though no specifics about the story’s progression have been disclosed, it is reasonable to assume that the sequel will bring back at least some of the original cast members while also introducing new characters in order to make the narrative more expansive.
On a budget of approximately $12 million, the original movie has already made more than $90 million at the box office after having been in theaters for nearly two weeks. M3Gan has been successful for both Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, and the movie itself has garnered positive feedback from audiences as well as reviews from professional film critics.
