She is being chased by a maniac driving a van when he rams her, sending her into another vehicle. The hospital is pitch black when she awakens. The accident has taken her sight. Diana is helped by Rita, a young member of the Blind Society, in her first steps into the darkness and in her new life. The police investigate the case unsuccessfully.
