John Saxon graced the screen of so many films and has brought endless hours of joy to so many lives. It’s really not important to talk about how he passed, just that he was an incredible actor who left a huge mark on films, and our genre, as a whole.

For the genre he had influential roles as Dr. Marcello Bassi in 1963’s The Evil Eye, Dr. Jack Costain in 1965’s Blood Beast from Outer Space, Lt. Ken Fuller in 1974’s Black Christmas, he was a regular in the Fantasy Island series, Lt. Thompson in 1984’s Nightmare on Elm Street, and he even played himself in 1994’s Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. One of his most prominent roles outside of the genre was Roper where he played opposite Bruce Lee in 1973’s Enter the Dragon.

While John will be missed dearly his legacy will live on. There are two films in his filmography that will be releasing next year; one is within the genre called Bring Me the Head of Lance Henrickson.

RIP Lieutenant.

I write horror sometimes.
