With the release of MaXXXine, the third and final film in his X trilogy, director Ti West will bring the series to a satisfying conclusion. Confused? You shouldn’t! The first film in the series was called “X” and was set in the 1970s. The second film in the series, Pearl, was a prequel and was set in 1918. And MaXXXine is a continuation of X that takes place in the 1980s.
In spite of the fact that X, Pearl, and MaXXXine all feature the same main character and progression of events, the three of them take place in distinct eras. The viewer is able to obtain a deeper comprehension of the ways in which society has evolved throughout the course of history by seeing each of these films, which examine the many social and political issues that were prevalent during their respective times. These movies show how society has changed in areas like gender equality and racial prejudice by following a single character from the beginning to the end over the course of several decades.
Mia Goth is scheduled to reprise her role as Maxine in the 1980s-set sequel directed by Ti West, and in a new interview with Variety, she hints that this installment may be the greatest of the trio. Director Ti West says the sequel will be even more visually spectacular than the first one, and Mia Goth is just as excited about it. In the interview, Mia Goth said she was “very happy” to return for a third installment and collaborate with the same brilliant director.

Since making her otherworldly debut in Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac” when she was only 18 years old, Mia Goth has been a secret weapon of auteurs. This began when she made her debut in the film. Since then, she has distinguished herself as an actress in films directed by Luca Guadagnino (2018’s “Suspiria”), Claire Denis (2018’s “High Life”), and Autumn de Wilde (“Emma,” 2020).
Her fame rose after acting in the horror films “X” and “Pearl,” both of which were directed by Ti West and released the year before. She worked on the script for the latter, which depicts the narrative of a young woman who is fixated on the idea of achieving fame and yearns to run away from her humdrum life on a farm. She was a co-writer for the script. The psychological thriller titled “Infinity Pool” will be Goth’s next project, and it is scheduled to make its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
