Jurassic World: Dominion is expected to be the longest film in the trilogy.

“A true ensemble” is how director Colin Trevorrow describes Jurassic World: Dominion, the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Jurassic Park trilogy, in which returning actors Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, along with newcomers Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, play equal roles in the story. It seems logical that this sequel, which Trevorrow has indicated is the culmination of a six-film plot, is going to be the longest in the whole Jurassic series since there are so many people to cover.

Films based on Michael Crichton’s best-selling book, Jurassic Park, have gone to some wild places since its premiere in 1993. Running times have tended to be the same for these scenarios of playing God with the ultimate genetic tool kit.

It hasn’t been officially verified, but according to Collider, this second trilogy-ending film clocks in at 2 hours 26 minutes.

Except for Jurassic Park III, which was just 1 hour 32 minutes long, the Jurassic Park films have always been little over 2 hours in length, according to tradition.

Let’s compare the runtimes of the other films to the new standard.

  • Jurassic World: Dominion – 2 hrs, 26 mins
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park/Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – 2 hrs, 9 mins
  • Jurassic Park – 2 hrs, 7 mins
  • Jurassic World – 2 hrs, 4 mins
  • Jurassic Park III – 1 hr, 32 mins

Some folks may have been concerned about this after Chris Pratt’s prior guarantee that Dominion will be like Avengers: Endgame. After hearing those words for the first time, it’s likely that everyone had memories to the time Kevin Feige warned there wouldn’t be time to pee during 2019’s Infinity Saga finale. You may be able to put your anxieties about a three-hour epic in the Jurassic World series to rest.
