Inner Child Crowd Funding Campaign

Inner Child is an upcoming horror film that is currently seeking help and funding on the popular crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo. The film promises to deliver a unique and thrilling experience to horror fans, exploring themes of trauma, fear, and the power of the human mind. With a talented team of filmmakers behind the project, Inner Child is bound to leave a lasting impression on its audience. Let’s look closer at the film’s concept, the team behind it, and how you can support its journey to the big screen.

Based on a novella and a short screenplay of the same name, both penned by the talented Natalie Rodriguez, the story has already garnered significant acclaim.

The short film screenplay version of Inner Child already secured a place in the top twenty at the prestigious Hollyshorts, an Academy Award-Contender film festival. The novella/short story was also independently published in Stray Books and featured on the popular Scary Stories podcast.

The feature film adaptation of Inner Child will delve into the life of Cassie, a college freshman grappling with the consequences of severing ties with her toxic family. Plagued by self-doubt and haunted by a recurring nightmare, Cassie’s already fragile mental state is pushed to the brink. Desperate for answers and relief from her night terrors, she turns to her therapist, Dr. Reid, hoping to find a solution.

As Cassie embarks on a journey of self-discovery, she is forced to confront the truth about her past and the reality of her situation. She comes to the chilling realization that her nightmares are, in fact, body memories from a traumatic event she experienced as a child. As she delves deeper into her unresolved wounds, Cassie reflects on her toxic upbringing, marked by a mother who refused to acknowledge the family’s issues and drug-addicted relatives.

Along with fearing that she will become a product of her dysfunctional family and perpetuate the cycle of abuse, addiction, and violence, Cassie’s greatest fear is reverting to the terrified little girl she once was. To overcome her past, she must confront her perpetrator – a particular relative who played a significant role in her trauma.

Drawing inspiration from strong female characters like Nancy from “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and Grace from “Short Term 12,” Cassie is faced with a critical decision: succumb to her childhood trauma and let it define her, or break the cycle and stand up for herself. Inner Child is a powerful exploration of the human psyche, the resilience of the human spirit, and the importance of confronting one’s past to forge a brighter future.

Inner Child has already captured the attention of prominent horror figures such as Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II) and Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp and Terrifier 2). Taylor-Compton is currently in discussions to possibly portray Dr. Reid, Cassie’s long-time therapist who strives to help her navigate the challenges of trauma and its impact on the future. Meanwhile, Rose is being considered for the part of Christine, Cassie’s mother, who faces difficulties supporting her daughter due to her own struggles.

Currently, Christine Heneise (Pain Relief and Guess Who’s Dying For Dinner) is officially connected to the film, taking on the role of Aunt Kris, a character whom Cassie severed ties with years ago. In addition to portraying Aunt Kris, Heneise will produce Inner Child, alongside Larry Minion, Daniel O’Brien, and Alex Sarkissian, while Peter M. Olsen serves as the executive producer. The film is being written, directed, and produced by Natalie Rodriguez, the creative mind behind the original novella and short screenplay for Inner Child.
